Riveria on social media

Proud to be #riverialainen

Guidelines for social media

When you have something great to say, do it – also on social media!

Make versatile use of social media to highlight your skills, share feelings and events, network with working life and search for information. With an active and smart social media presence, you might impress your future employer!

Behave well and respect others

Riveria does not accept bullying – not even on social media. Do not insult, call names or annoy anyone. If the conversation gets heated, calm down. Assess whether the level of the discussion is such that it is worth participating. Justify your opinion, try to understand the other’s point of view as well, don’t be provoked. Apologize when appropriate.

Prevent harassment and bullying

If you come across bullying, spreading of private information, violation of copyrights, insulting human values or other disturbing behavior on the Riveria social media, tell your teacher.

Respect copyright and privacy

Do not share what someone else has done (e.g. images, teaching material) on social media without the author’s permission. If you use material you find on social media, make sure you have the right to do so. Don’t spread pictures or information about another person without their permission.

Be mindful about what you’re showing and to whom

Different social media channels have different uses. Some are related to studying and others to your private life: be mindful about choosing the right channel for your posts. What kind of image do you want to convey on social media to your professional network: fellow students, your teacher or perhaps your future employer? Always check the channels’ privacy settings.

Don’t post things on social media that you wouldn’t feel comfortable sharing in a more professional setting. Remember that any publication distributed to even a small circle can spread to a larger audience. If necessary, you can create separate profiles for study and private matters.
