Surveying the learning skills
At the beginning of the studies, you are given tests measuring your study skills (reading and writing, mathematics). In this phase, you should think about what is easy for you in studying and where you might need help. You should discuss these learning-related thoughts and questions with your coaching teacher or a special needs teacher.
Studies supporting learning skills
Studies supporting learning skills are aimed to facilitate the prerequisites for success in studies. Studies are only possible for vocational upper secondary qualification students. These studies do not accumulate competency points for the qualification.
These studies can be used to support, for example, the development of Finnish language skills or general study skills. Studies are planned with individual goals and are part of your PCDP. The learning environments of these studies vary from school facilities to different workshop environments.
Special support
During your studies, you have the right to receive special support if needed. You can get special support, for example, due to learning difficulties, illness or some other personal reason. Support is planned individually for you and documented in your PCDP. Support is usually given regularly throughout the studies. You can study in the same group with other students, but if necessary, support is offered in small groups or as individual guidance. Support is provided by special needs teachers together with vocational teachers and subject teachers.
